Alpha

Alpha is the place to explore the meaning of life. Why am I here? Is there more to life than this? Is this it?

Come and join an Alpha programme and bring your questions. Each week you will gather with a group of people, have an excellent meal, listen to a short talk about an aspect of the Christian faith and have the opportunity to discuss this in a small, friendly group – and we will try to answer all your questions.

We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view. Alpha explores the basics of the Christian faith and it runs all around the globe – including in Cardigan! We will regularly hold Alpha courses, so if you are interested in attending a future course, please contact us. We are currently planning to run Alpha again starting in September, we currently don’t have a fixed start date. If you would like more information please email Cassie@cardigan.church.

Missions

The Church is called to be both set apart from the world and sent into the world. The church is to be both worshipful and missional in its orientation. It is our dual function to be a Great Commandment church and a Great Commission church.

To this end we long to be a light in our community and beyond. Much of what we do at Mount Zion aims to be both disciple building and disciple sending. But not everyone can “go” beyond the boundaries of home, so as a church we have made mission friendships, helping in shouldering the responsibility of prayer support and financial support. All of our mission friendships have developed through connections made by the Mount Zion family. Each mission is highlighted for one month per year (Ty Cariad, two times per year) for prayer and financial support.

We support:

  • Ty Cariad – Uganda
  • Fulani Ministries – Burkina Faso
  • Good News for Everyone (formerly Gideons UK)
  • Blythswood (includes Christmas Shoeboxes)
  • BMS Uganda
